Nacogdoches Medical Center and the American Cancer Society, Texas Division, are co-sponsors of the Dialogue Program which is an ongoing support group and educational program for cancer patients and their families. The support groups are designed to provide the patient, along with their family, the opportunity to learn how to deal with and how to live with cancer.
The programs objectives are to:
- Provide a comfortable group environment for individuals to discuss their experiences and feelings.
- Provide participants an opportunity to enhance their existing coping mechanism.
- Provide educational information and increase the participants awareness of the services and resources available through Nacogdoches Medical Center and the American Cancer Society.
The programs facilitators are trained by the American Cancer Society and specifically designed for licensed healthcare professionals who have at least one year's experience working with cancer patients.
The Support Group Meetings are held at Nacogdoches Medical Center every month. The Breast Cancer Support Group Luncheons are held on the second Wednesday of the month.
