Nacogdoches Medical Center was among 93 Texas hospitals to receive the Texas Health Care Quality Improvement Award, presented by TMF Health Quality Institute.
TMF Health Quality Institute, the Medicare quality improvement organization for Texas, established the awards program in partnership with The Texas Hospital Association, Texas Medical Association, Texas Organization of Rural & Community Hospitals and Texas Osteopathic Medical Association.
Based on an evaluation of four quarters of data beginning in 2008, Nacogdoches Medical Center implemented process changes quarterly to improve their performance and remeasured at the end of the fourth quarter 2008, to see if performance had been maintained or improved. Based on maintaining a minimum of 80 percent for the appropriate care measure (ACM) and all other requirements, Nacogdoches Medical Center was awarded the Quality Improvement Achievement Award.
“Nacogdoches Medical Center’s staff and physicians are honored to be recognized for quality of care and will continue to provide the level of service in the future that qualifies NMC for the Texas Health Care Improvement Award,” said Gary Stokes, CEO.
