The Cardiopulmonary Department at Nacogdoches Medical Center provides diagnostic evaluation, therapy, and education of the patient, family and public. The department is responsible for providing safe and effective care upon a Physician Prescription/Order. Services are provided to both inpatients and outpatients.

The Cardiopulmonary Department services include:

Cardio-diagnostics

  • Echocardiogram
  • Electrocardiogram (EKG)
  • Magnet Procedure for EKG’s
  • Exercise Treadmill Test (ETT)

Pulmonary diagnostics

  • Blood Gas Determinations
  • Pulmonary Function Test (PFT)
  • Pulse Oximetry     

Respiratory Care Therapy for Acute Respiratory Failure or Acute Respiratory Distress secondary to any disease process:

  • Artificial Airway Management
  • Aersol Administration
  • BiPAP/CPAP
  • Mechanical Ventilation
  • Bronchial Hygiene
  • Continuous Bronchodilator Therapy
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
  • Oxygen Administration
  • Medical Gas Administration

Daily Therapeutic maintenance for acute and chronic complication:

  • Aerosol Administration
  • Bronchial Hygiene
  • Oxygen Administration
  • Medical Gas Administration
  • Bronchodilator Therapy
  • Oxygen Analysis
  • Pulse Oximetry
  • Transports
  • Incentive Spirometry
  • CPT and Postural Drainage
