Dr. Dayawansa is a neurosurgeon and an active member of the Congress of Neurological Surgeons and the American Association of Neurological Surgeons. In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Dayawansa serves as an adjunct research professor at the University of Virginia and collaborates with academic institutions worldwide. His clinical focus includes preventive medicine, with emphasis on weight management, healthy living, and lifestyle modification. He is committed to offering minimally invasive and noninvasive treatment approaches whenever possible. Dr. Dayawansa primarily treats adult patients but also provides care for pediatric patients in cases of trauma. His special interests include minimally invasive brain and spine surgery, with the use of advanced navigation and technology. I have never had to sit and wait for longer than a few minutes to get taken to the exam room or for the nurse/Dr. Sam to be in the exam room. They have even scheduled me as the last visit before closing for lunchtime so they are able to give me a little more time for my surgery questions/consultation. I can't say enough about how well I have been treated by everyone in the office.

My experience with Dr. Sam and everyone who works at Nac Neurosurgery has been an unexpectedly positive and supportive experience since my first visit. Dr. Sam is an incredibly dedicated physician who is very friendly and quick to listen, answer questions and discuss issues with me in an expedient manner. He doesn't rush to get me out of the office and I feel like the thoracic surgery went very well as did the epidural injection following the surgery.

Dr. Sam and his staff were very professional and courteous. They explained everything to me and Dr. Sam showed me the films from the MRI results to point out the areas that were concerning and why, as well as what he thinks is the best approach for treatment. Very knowledgeable and very helpful.
