(Nacogdoches, TX) – Nacogdoches Medical Center is welcoming a new member to its administrative team this February. The hospital and the NMC Health Network has named Carrie Allen as its associate administrator. Allen will be responsible for strategic planning, physician recruitment, marketing and other business development functions, as well as for ancillary operations. She begins her new role with NMC on Feb. 21, 2022.

Allen has 19 years of experience in business development. Prior to accepting the position with NMC, she served as director of physician relations at Phoenix Children’s Hospital, a 565-bed regional pediatric hospital in Arizona. Allen led efforts there in business development, strategic planning and provider outreach that resulted in improved service line growth and satisfaction among patients, team members and physician partners.

The staff and physicians at NMC said they are pleased to have Allen join their team.

“We are very excited to have Carrie Allen join the great team at NMC,” said Francis Spruiell, vice-chair of the Nacogdoches Medical Center Hospital Governing Board. “Carrie brings years of experience and leadership that will promote the continued growth and success of our health network,” Spruiell said.

Modupe Sokunbi, M.D., chief of staff of the NMC Health Network, also applauded the addition of Allen to the team and welcomed her on behalf of the NMC medical staff.

“Carrie has extensive experience in healthcare leadership and a proven track record of success,” Dr. Sokundi said. “She will be a great addition and strong asset to our NMC organization and our community,” she said.

Allen holds a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication from St. Bonaventure University in New York. She and her husband, Corey, have two adult children, Ethan, who lives in Arizona, and Maya, who resides in South Carolina.
