Nacogdoches Hospital District approves letter of intent allowing NMC to lease space at Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital
Hospitals’ shared resources to benefit community
(Nacogdoches, TX) – Nacogdoches Medical Center (NMC) has received the vote of approval from the Nacogdoches Hospital District to pursue an agreement to lease space and equipment at Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital (NMH). The vote on a Letter of Intent to Lease was passed by Hospital District members Tuesday at their regularly scheduled meeting. Once the definitive agreement is finalized, the lease will allow NMC to increase access to specialized care for people living in Nacogdoches and greater East Texas.
“We are grateful to the Hospital District members for their support of the lease arrangement and excited by what this could mean for advancing services to meet this community’s healthcare needs,” said Jeff Patterson, Nacogdoches Medical Center CEO. “Our objective is to use the lease space to expand critically needed services for our neighbors in Nacogdoches and East Texas counties beyond.”
The lease will allow NMC to increase access to specialized care for people living in Nacogdoches and greater East Texas.
The leased space will serve as a satellite campus of Nacogdoches Medical Center. Specific details and lease terms are under development. NMC leaders are in the process of evaluating the collective community needs and will work with medical staff providers to deliver acute care services that strengthen the health care provision and empower citizens to access more services close to home.
“This is an incredible opportunity to bring our shared resources together for the benefit of the people we serve,” said Rhonda McCabe, Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital CEO. “We applaud the Hospital District’s vision in moving forward with an idea that makes the best use of our available resources.”
Nacogdoches Medical Center has been serving the Nacogdoches community for 50 years and is the largest provider of care for the community. NMC exclusively offers maternal and neonatal care with Level II Special Care Nursery and Maternal designations from the Texas Department of State Health Services. The hospital is the only Primary Stroke Center in Nacogdoches. It is a Joint Commission Certified Chest Pain Center and offers Level IV Trauma Care as well as a Joint Commission Certified Total Joint Program. Ongoing expansions and renovations help ensure that NMC provides Nacogdoches and East Texas with the high-quality care and wide range of services that are critical to the health of the community.
